UT internet problems

I have been trying to get UT to work in internet games and am having little luck.
I have trying deleting the whole game from my registry and re-installing it twice.
I don't know if it's just a conflict with my ISP (Compuserve 2000a) or in my game settings.
I have my network settings correct for my modem.
Single player games work great and so do LAN games, just not internet.
If someone could shed some light on my problem I would greatly appreciate it.

If you can dial up to compuserve and browse the internet, your connection settings should be fine.
When you click on Multiplayer - Find Internet Games, what happens?
Try clicking on the Deathmatch tab.
In the bottom status bar it should say "querying master server" or something like that.
If you can see the list of servers, what happens when you try to connect to one?

I am able to log into internet games (ie query the master server and join games,etc.), but when I get into the game I get the red modem disconnect icon on the right side of the screen. When I move around in the game I can see some of the other players, but they are "frozen" and do not move.
I have version 432 and join games that are 432 or earlier versions, so I know that is not the problem. I have tried running the game in various resolutions and texture settings also. That's about all I can tell you for now.

I had the same problem you did. Installed retail version of UT (version 4.00), then installed the upgrade patch to 432. I tried joining internet games, and I could join, but all I could do is watch other players play. THE FIX? Reinstall UT without the patch. I did this, and everything worked fine there after.

Problem is that my retail version is the Game of The Year edition. Sorry I should have mentioned that before. Thanks though.
