FPS: Quake III, Unreal Tournament (with mods), Half-life (with mods - specifically Team fortress classic and Counter-strike) & Tribes 2 when it comes out.. RP: Baldors Gate II (have it - fun and popular), Icewind Dale (BG2 engine - also good), Online (Everquest - $ 10/month) Hope that helps.. $ .02 ------------------ - Mouse not found - click to continue.. Blizzard 11-01-2000, 02:07 PM Hi. I strongly suggest you should buy Unreal Tournament (The best game ever) and/or Half Life. Also, if you're interested in strategy, Red Alert 2 is a great game! Rick014 11-02-2000, 08:15 PM There's a new FPS that just came out called Rune. It's built around a modified U.T. engine and has very good graphics. I just finished playing it and can give it the thumbs up. There's a demo out if you want to check it out. If you do a search it should be pretty easy to find. LordVampyre 11-03-2000, 11:53 AM Went over to Fry's Electronics.. Rune is out.. think it was 45.00 Mad_Marty 11-03-2000, 11:54 PM An excellent FPS/RPG hybrid is Dues Ex. Can't get much better unless you starting digging back to older Warren Specter games like System Shock 2 or Thief. Bassthe1st 11-06-2000, 06:09 PM If you want a really good FPS, get Rune. For RPG, I would say Balder's Gate II. BG's are really great. They are far superior to Diablo II in my opinion. ------------------ RADEON RULE !!! Bligg 11-06-2000, 06:16 PM Is Rune really a FPS? I know its based on the engine for UT which is a FPS. First-Person-Shooter. Rune is 3rd person I believe, and you use hand to hand combat weapons (no guns) so you don't really shoot. Rune is more of a 3PH, 3rd person hand-to-hand. I have no idea what my point is. ------------------ Mmm...omnipotence, gotta get me some of that! Bassthe1st 11-07-2000, 12:51 AM Originally posted by Bligg: Is Rune really a FPS? The only problem is you don't see your weapon in that position. ------------------ RADEON RULE !!! AlmostDigital 11-08-2000, 07:23 AM MDK2 is a pretty good game--kinda old by today's standards. Fab levels etc., Action, Comedy, Multiple characters, enjoy the third person goodness today! I have system capable of running them games but my friend has a p 166 overclocked to 233 with a voodoo 2 and 96 megs of ram ------------------ Hello Pinky 11-12-2000, 03:33 PM Pick up a copy of Tribes for $10!!!.....and play it until Tribes 2 comes out. eba 12-30-2000, 12:54 AM Try Crimson Skies. Since the 1.02 patch, it runs great. More an action game than a flight sim, but with a great storyline and incredible graphics. It's great fun. Camper 12-30-2000, 05:40 PM Unreal Tourny is pretty good, but the game that I'm playing right now is Project IGI. Eidos did a great job on IGI. Those two games must rank in the top ten on everybodies list. The Voyager FPS was pretty good. It's a little short on the SP side though. Baldur's Gate 2 is a good RPG, but don't forget Planescape : Torment. I'm suggesting older games because a) they may cost less than newer ones and b) no one else mentioned these http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif Hope that helps! ------------------ ultramag@xgr.com Informant 01-08-2001, 06:17 PM For shooters you NEED: Half Life: Literally halves your social life Unreal Tournament+Mods+bonusPack=Best Game of 1999/2000+great value+great graphics.
