Oh I am pretty psyched about BG2. I figure I'll get it as soon as I get through Chrono Cross, FF9, and Grandia 2. Console RPGs are great, too.

I haven't really played many RPGs in the past. It's not that I don't like them, and oddly enough I've done a fair amount of pen and paper RPGing in the past, I just tend not to be any good at computer RPGs. :) Having said that though I'll probably be picking up Baldur's Gate II to give it a good playing, if not a review. However, the one I'm really looking forward to from Bioware is Neverwinter Nights. All the benefits of pen and paper role playing, but over the internet or LAN with gorgeous 3D graphics. No more stacks of character sheets to mess with. :) Obviously it won't be quite the same as the "real thing" but I'm looking forward to it none the less. What can I say - I'm a sucker for convenience.

Yep. Will be a great game. But the problem is, I'am missing of time to play. I still have to get trought Diablo II and I would need to finish Planescape Torment some days.

Anybody have the same problem ?
Seems like we're just burried under new games !

I have played BG and the expansion and they were Great. I like the multiplayer aspect of the CRPG's. I think the CRPG's without multiplayer capabilites are missing what RPGing is all about. I have finished BG and the expansion and DII and also all the old SSI games. I wonder how many of you remember those??? http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif I am play IWD now and am very much looking forward to Neverwinter Nights. That should be great if they get it right.

Damn i loved those old SSI games... hehe i got all those old dark sun games.. those kicked ***!

never got around to IWD or Torment unfortunately, but i sure will have a good try at BG2.

Actually the shipping date is now pushed back to 9/26 http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/frown.gif

I pre-ordered mine 2 weeks ago figuring i'd have a good week of time to play it before college started up again, guess i was wrong... *sigh*

Neverwinter Nites looks awesome too.. but i'm just wondering how many good DM's and good modules will be out there. I don't necessarily believe as many people will sit down and create a deep and awe inspiring Module for Neverwinter in comparison to the good olde quake mods... just not enough people are into RPG's.... too many people expect fast in-and-out gameplay that doesn't work very well in RPG's.

Fans waiting to get their hands on BG2 are in for a hell of a treat. I've been playing a preview copy for a while, and while I wasn't crazy about the original, I love this one. It starts out right in the action in a locale that looks ripped from Planescape (the best RPG in recent memory for any system), and keeps moving. Also, you can pump the resolution up way high (I was playing at 1024x768...) and the graphic improvements are beautiful. Spell effects are even more impressive, and since you're much higher level than in the original, you get a lot more cooler spells to throw around.

At this point, I'd venture to say that BG2 will easily make it as one of the year's best games.

BG2 will no doubt be cool. I just hope they have solved some of the issues that kept bugging me about the original. How can a game without heavy graphics be slow on a state of the art machine?

And BTW Diablo 2 sucks big time.

Yup the performance should be much better. And the graphics more nicer...but i think that D2 was ok and was pretty darn good compared to some other games....but yet i too have gotten bored of the game as well.
