I have no idea about a release date. It probably wont be for awhile. I think they are making it for the X-Box and then going to port it to the PC. I could be wrong about this so if anyone else knows correct me. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif

As far as i know,HALO will appear Q4 this year ,in the best case,wich ,as all of us knows ,its almost never happends...,but I keep some hope.Because of the season well known rush it might be true.
In the worst case I think at Q2-3 next year.
But,if we are at this point,I wana add something ,that IMHO ,HALO is an very concludent case about what public internet petitions can do,and I think that the fact that so many ppls on the net subscribed at some of many petitions helped greatly on M$ decision to agree releasing HALO on the PC also,beside x-thing...

As far as I know, all the development work to date has been done geared to releasing it on the PC platform. The X Box is still at least a year off, so I cant see the sense in just halting PC work. So perhaps we'll see it sooner. And I surely hope that is the cae, because this game looks like it's gonna kick some major butt.

I read in PC Gamer that Halo's release date would be in spring year 2001.

The demo mpeg i saw was marvelous. But I think that was running on a IMac? What system spec do ya think a PC requires to run a game like that?

Coz I got a p3-800, 128mb ram and Leadtek Geforce 256 DDR 32mb.

Halo was shown to PC Gamer UK on a 450 Mhz computer with a TNT 2 (Ultra ?). They didn't say anything about how much RAM and what resolution, but they got 25 fps on that computer.
So recommended system requirements would be :
P2/Athlon 500 Mhz
Geforce or Geforce 2 GTS
128 MB RAM

That's what I think will be a good PC to run Halo on. It will be no problem for me since I got a 700 Mhz Athlon, 256 MB RAM and a Creative Annihilator PRO http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif

Bear in mind the engine will probably get optimised a little more before release, too.

From what I read it's going to be a 3rd person game, but I really really really hope they change that or at least let you choose. My concern is about the netcode. Will it be playable on a modem????

Halo will be released on Mac and PC at the same time. No release hav been planed on the X-box or PS2. There will be a mision editor fore halo(they are looking fore tools programer fore mision editor for Halo).
Halo won best action game in E3 2000(Black and White took Best Game). Its physic engine is better when it comes to vehicles the moast racing games.

One last thing. thirst time i saw the E3 2000 video the only thing i could say whas kick ***.
