I would say Civ2 or Tie Fighter. This will change when Star Wars Galaxies is released. As far as recent games go, Half Life is best of the last 4 years. Warcraft 2 is good, starcraft is as well, preferences will decide who prefers which.

I'm with you.. I love it. SO many good things to say about it (of course except for the ocassional tard that blows himself up in respawn continuously)..

I find myself playing it all the time.. No other game has drawn me to it as much. I'd love to at least SEE with valve is doing with TF2.. should be fun when (if) it comes out..

The best game ever in my opinion is Unreal Tournament. I have never had so much fun with any other games as with UT. Capture the Flag on Lavagiant, it's great. If you don't own UT already, buy it now!

I think this title belongs to the original DooM! Before that, games were blocky little aliens zooming about the screen being shot at by another little blocky thing. Just go back and see what the original DooM does have. Check out those mountain scenes through the windows. Can't see where the walls join like is REDICULOUSLY obvious in some levels of undying. DooM was such a leap ahead in gaming that it stunned people waaay back when. Try the new JDooM mod incidentally, accelerated graphics in DooM are certainly worth a look.

Best game of all time? Don't know. There are many that revolutionised, or changed the way I see PC games.

Half Life is BY FAR the best game ever made for the PC. The fact that 2 people have listed free MODS to the game as their favorites only underscores the point. There are so many MODS available for this 3 year old game that you could have played it continuously in all it's flavors in that time and still not be bored!

Not only the best game....but far and away the best VALUE ever. The best $40 I ever spent. WAY TO GO VALVE!!!

I just can't stand it when people bag quake3 by comparing it to games which are two years newer than it is! Granted, not all you guys do it as UT and q3 came out around the same time (did in Australia). But! Quake3 is now an OLD game, and is going to suck when compared to newer games. ID is continually barraged in this way when their games represent the first title in a COMPARISON WAR... where the title is continually pitted against NEWER games. I'm not saying that quake is the best out there, in fact I believe that quake2 and EPECIALLY quake 3 were too bland and uninspired, ID are also not good level designers.

Anyhow Counter Strike and UT are a load of Toss in my opinion. I never saw anything to rave about with either of them. Never played Tribes after I saw it run at like 12 fps.... yuck!!!

Final Fantasy IV (2US) and Final Fantasy VI (3US) changed my outlook on games. Best ever? Hard to say... But I personally know people who will still dig out the old SNES to play again (even now, 10(?)+ yrs. after their release). I doubt you will be able to say that with some of the more popular games today.

that means that Q3 cant hold its value through time... I mean, i still regard FF7 and CHrnono Trigger (6 years old!) as probably the best games ever made. If a game turns sorry after time it means that it has no substance.
