but on a less angry tone i will have to agree with you 1/2 of the way. MS Flight sime 2k was one of the tools terrorists used to train, don't get me wrong the terrorist's might have also learned how to wipe their *** while they were here but that don't mean i am gonna stop, just pointing out the relevance. I completely agree with the walking on glass for entertainment when it is unecessary. For example economists are worried about consumers spending less money and driving North America into a hole? so they cancel movies? O.K. i had to wait a bloody extra month to see Training Day damnit. *** is up with that, during that time ppl could have been getting paid but i guess they were worried i might go kill some russian or something... stupid people. But none the less FS2002 looks badass, all i need is a computer so i can throw my cardboard box away and get it.

Ok two things:

I'm pi$$ed off that they are taking out landmarks I mean seriously thats a little ridiculous, whats the point of a realistic flight simulator if london dont look like london there aint no grand canyons nowhere.

secondly when theres a bad car crash I dont see no racing game being taken of the market or when there is bad shooting therre aint nobody taking no games of the market just cause there are some people getting shot in it. If they followed microsoft strategie then they would take nazi signs of those people in WOlf 3d.

you are comparing two differnt things all together, ok they aren't getting rid of FSX in fact they are obviously still coming out with new Versions so i don't know where you are going with this.
Here let me give you a FAIR example?
Reality:
terrorists use the FS 2001 to practice crashing into the WTC
Result: they take some landmarks out of the game but continue to make new versions non the less.

And you are comparing a unreleated car crash with any general car game which is retarded. When the real fact is the terrorists actually used this software to practice illegal action, but whatever, stop flaming ppl this topic has gotten so off topic.

Well they gotta take out the World Trade Center since it doesn't exist anymore. And BTW, are you getting the game just so you can crash it into another building or becuase you actually wanna learn how to fly a life like plane?

Seriously how hard could it be to fly a plane in a huge building, do you really think that that is why they are taking them out. I know they say they used flight sim but apart from graphics whatdifferences are there? They would pratice with a better looking game thats it. I dont wanna fly to london and not see the millenium wheel or houses of parliment. If the game makers where really worried about them using it to learn how to turn a stick untill they are infront of the building then straigten up, then they would mak it so you cant make your own cities and buildings.

WOW, who cares, this is just Microsoft's way of dealing with an emotional situation, if you want a scenery game then buy a idiots guide to london (it has lots of pictures), but in case you hadn't noticed fs is a flight simulator for ppl interested in flying, it is obviously more important for microsoft to evade problems with the general public then to put more buildings into a flight simulator which already looks mad sweet and there is nothing you can do about it

Actually, I don't think you can crash planes into buildings anymore. At least that's the gossip I've heard.

Back on to the main comments....Does anyone have FS 2002 yet? If so, where did you get it. I've checked the usual suspects (BBuy, CompUSA, EB, etc.) and no one has it. Some show it coming in 10/18 but last time I checked today is 10/21 and it's still not in yet. Anyone?

I don't think they would.

It's a physics factor in flight, obstacles. I couldn't see the controversy. Look at FPS stuff, amongst the awesome graphics, graphic blood shed, and violence, and what about driving games with pedestrian points. Why FS2002 , would be stripped of it's full use amonst this crowd of games would be a bit of a false balance. Like not allowing a picture of a cow in an encyclopedia, because someone did something bad to someone with a cow.(Alright, I win at dumb analogies)

If they wan't to do this as a gesture though *shug*, nice attempt either way, but whoah...a bit misplaced it seems.

Microsoft makes changes to Flight Simulator

The publisher removes the World Trade Center from its upcoming civilian flight sim in light of the recent terrorist attacks in the US.

GameSpot spoke with Microsoft representative Matt Pilla today about the changes being made to its upcoming civilian flight sim, Flight Simulator 2002. According to Pilla, the only change being made to the game is the removal of the World Trade Center, which was destroyed in Tuesday's terrorist attacks. The complex will be replaced by open space. No changes to the game's collision detection system will be made. Microsoft will also release a patch next week for previous Flight Simulator games that will remove part of the video introduction to the game that refers to an airplane colliding with a skyscraper.
Flight Simulator 2002 is scheduled for release in October. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.

i saw it in a best buy ad in the sunday paper so it's out there for sale. i may hold off on getting it though...right now i would rather save the money towards the $500 Nikon N80 SLR camera....*drools*...
