Joystick with Counter-Strike

Hi! Does anyone know if I can use Joystick in Counter-strike?

I'm pretty sure you can, if i remember correctly a friend of mine used to, but then when he discovered the miracle of keyboard/mouse, he just decided that a joystick was too ackward for that type of game. Worth a try though, IF you have a joystick already.

You should be able to. I messed around in Half-Life using some of the joysticks in the joystick roundup. You just wanna make sure you've got a joystick with a function that has a feature that lets you look around easily, such as the trackball in the MadKatz Panther or the analog stick on the Gravis Exterminator Dual Control. It takes a little practice too, but I know of one Quaker who used a joystick and a trackball to play and he easily slaughtered all challengers. :)

I don't play C.S., but I do play alot of TFC and use a j-stick for that. I use the mouse to look with and the j-stick for mouvment.
You have to make a joystick.cfg and put it in your Half Life /valve folder. The config works with all my mods so it should work is C.S. Just make sure that in the configuration/controls/advanced controls, you check joystick/mouse look, and uncheck
joystick look.Do this first and then program your j-stick buttons for what you want. If the buttons don't respond, exit the setup and go back, sometimes you have to do that before the j-stick is recognized.

Copy the above in notepad and save as
"joystick.cfg" WITH the quotation marks, this will save it as a .cfg and not as a word document.I use the twisting motion for strafing (joyadvaxisr 3) and side to side for turning (joyadvaxisx 4), if you want to revers this, just change the 3 and the 4 around. I use this joystick mouse combo in Q3 and Unreal Tounement and find it works rather well.
