I just bought a brand new Viewsonic G 815 21" monitor (20" viewable). Here is the deal:
Lets say I have a red icon on the LEFT side on the screen. If I move the red icon to the
CENTER of the screen, it appears much brighter (how its supposed to look.) This is also
evident in games i play (the fading). Whats the deal? Should I ask for a new monitor?

It sounds like the focus is off somehow...Id definately send it back. A friend of mine had a similar problem with a Viewsonic...

make sure there are no magnitic souces near by speakers ect anything that makes a mangnick field near by can affect the color
i had a set of speakers 1 and 1/2 feet away from the monitor and red looked orange at the edge of the screen

You know what. Although technology improves daily. They dont make what they used to. Like my old ViewSonic PT775 Professional Series. Now its still better than this crappy E771 over 3 Years. Well The PT775 earns a perfect rating. Thats why you pay what you get. 1 000$ For this 17" Moniter.
I plan to trade in my E771 and get the EF70.
The E771 is keep shifting up causing the view screen to be cut of.

You got a bum monitor. Just return it for a replacement.
