I'm a poor college student and I need opinions on what to buy. I can't decide whether to fork out the cash for Empire Earth now, or wait a little for Rise of Nations. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think? Snoop Dogg 03-09-2002, 12:18 AM I would personally chose Rise of Nations. Although Empire Earth was pretty sweet in all angles its just too hard and long for me and takes awhile to adjust to the gameplay and feel of things. scarab 03-11-2002, 11:02 AM It works on 98 though ;) Snoop Dogg 03-11-2002, 07:08 PM Originally posted by scarab It works on 98 though ;) LOL what the heck? [C] 03-13-2002, 09:27 PM choices suck, eh guy indieboy117 03-14-2002, 10:54 AM I never played or heard of Rise of Nations, but I did play Empire Earth. Personally I think EE is great! I love nukin suff! I'd go EE if I were you. Snoop Dogg 03-14-2002, 08:08 PM Originally posted by indieboy117 I never played or heard of Rise of Nations LOL thats because RoN isn't out yet silly :P. He said "or wait a little for Rise of Nations" :) t00lband 03-16-2002, 12:13 AM Rise of Nations doesnt come out for a long damn time... could have swore I saw it with a 2002 release date somewhere. I suppose I'll try to find EE on ebay for a reasonable price. Snoop Dogg 03-16-2002, 12:37 AM Yeah it is a 2002 release date...isn't it? I thought it was Summer 2002 :( t00lband 03-17-2002, 12:11 AM Nope, it'll be around about this time - Next year. :( Snoop Dogg 03-17-2002, 07:45 PM HOLY crap I SWEAR it was this summer. Are you absolutely sure? Dang I really really was planning on this summer :( Geforce25 03-21-2002, 08:03 PM Originally posted by t00lband I'm a poor college student and I need opinions on what to buy. It IS a mother in time consumption. If you're an AOE-II fan figure on 2-3 times longer games. Worst case, my wife and I with one computer ally each played a game that topped 70 hours. Also be aware there is a bug which causes the game to crash when more than 1200 units are active. We now put the pop-cap at 1000 to avoid this. dudewth 03-22-2002, 12:11 AM Originally posted by scarab It works on 98 though ;) I have Windows XP Professional and I played Empire Earth last week on my computer. [C] 03-23-2002, 06:31 AM ive been playing EE since its availability in canada and am still enoying it! My only upset though is the fact that the whole game is now based around war. where in aoe2 you could sya consersative and build your forces before pushing your nose into trouble, now you are constantly attacked from after prehistoric onwards if you have more then one computer opponent. to me this takes the fun out of the game, because you do not get a chance to even specificy a lower degree of diffuclty in just building up your civ bfore inching into battle, which would then put force on force and offer more exciting battles as each player would have a more appropriate sized army. Likewise, the computer does cheat in creating in soldiers. if you watch there economy stats compared to there warfare they build soldiers twice as fast and with half the resources it takes you regardless of the civ you choose.
