:confused:Just wondering, anyone played it yet? I should be getting hold of the PreRelease beta by the weekend. It has probably been one of the most anticipated game (at least for me). Cant wait to get my hand on it.

Yeah, but I'm really waiting for Starcraft 2...course that will come out in 5 years, so I'll continue to wait...

Warcraft III is due out in June 2002. I am most anticipating Starcraft II also :). Gawd the cutscenes in the original were amazing and got me actually excited and wanting to kick some zerg arse. Did anyone else feel that way while watching some of the helpless and desperate starcraft cutscenes also?

I always demo my sound system with the intro to Broodwars

When i loaded that for the first time at close to full volume, i almost wet myself ;)

LOL Yep! I guess I am not alone ;). But seriously the Sound (screams) and the cutscenes (war and death scenes) were extremely bad arse! I just can't explain the feeling I got watching them.

i couldn't explain the feeling either... then i looked down and understood...:D greatest game of all time IMHO..

Hm, for it to sound that good Blizzard must have recorded it while killing a real person...

Oh, the beta is good, but Blizzard are changing quite a few things from the beat.
The most disappointing is the Night Elf resource gathering :(
You used to be able to watch the roots entangle the mine.
But Noooo, they have to change that!
Still, great game.

True that! :) Now if only they could do what Westwood did with the C&C series and make this game a FPS but without the problems Westwood had. That would be sweet playing as one of those soldiers!

Mabe they'll do something with it similar to WoW, depending on the success of it...

Thats what I was hoping for. Hoping they wouldn't just create a RTS sequel but hire more people and expand the game into multi genres like Unreal has done. Unreal is going Single Player, Multiplayer and Massivly Multiplayer (Unreal Warfare).

It would be sweet to see a MMOG of Starcraft I mean they definitally built the game around such a universe that questioning whether it could happen and whether or not its possible is out of the picture. I would just be happy with a Single Player and Multiplayer version of Starcraft in FPS format though ;P. I wanted to kick some Zerg arse after they were slaughtering troops in some of those cut scenes. It got me pumped up.

I've seen the Warcraft 3 beta. Haven't played it myself, but it looks sweat! Squirrel Meat might be able to tell someone where to find it.

is there more than one beta out for wc3? i have the beta (dled it), it was a 250 mb iso file,u can only play it on bnet(but you cant play it there if u download it, you have to use other programs to go on other private servers)

its pretty good

Yes, I'm "testing" it and having a blast doing! This game rox, but is VERY different from Starcraft. My first impression was that it was crap and I didn't like it at all. But now that I'm adjusting to the new way of doing things I think a lot of the changes they made are for the better. For example the more units you build up, the more "tax" you have to pay on gold you mine... Now intitially this sounds like an annoyance until you realize WHY they did it. The result from this is that people don't turtle anymore! It makes you get off your *** and use your units to fight. It makes the game much more interesting than it would be if you simply built up a huge army and then attacked, like you do in starcraft. I'm not sure which I like more sc, or wc3, but right now I'm enjoying wc3 more because it's new and different. I'm not sure though, I think that sc might actually be the better game, but wc3 is still a lot of fun.

I am a beta tester for War3 and I personally liked the earlier patches like 1.x better than the 2.x series of patches. I dunno. Maybe I just got burned out from playing it too much or something. I am looking forward to the single player War3 more than multiplayer cause then I can turn the eye candy way up compared to multiplayer. :)

Word and I am one of those "potential" testers :p :).

The game r0x and the 3d landscapes are amazing! IMO the screen shots dont give the game any justice at all.

it a cool game, but i hate how close the damn camera is to the units/buildings!!!
