Unreal 2 has now been renamed Unreal Episode 2 and UT2 is now UT2 2003. Also, Unreal 2 will not have any mulitplayer :(

I dont like UT2 2003, I think it should just be UE2 and UT2, but whatever.

Unreal Tournament 2003.... That just brings the whole feeling of the game down a few notches :( really lame name

Wonder how bad their other options were if they chose this one

Who cares what its called. Make up your own name for it, it's still the same game.

That's what they said about the XFL.

If you read the article on Gamespot you'll find that they've chosen the new naming scheme because they are going to go the EA route and release yearly "updates". Expect to see UT 2004, UT 2005 etc etc ... I'm hoping the Unreal series doesn't become as annoying as the EA Sports line of games.

Personally I see it as an attempt to cash in on the popularity of Unreal and Unreal Tournament. It could be a good thing if new techniques and technologies are implemented and the games are significantly improved/different from the last yearly incarnation.

But in reality how many people here drool over the next yearly update of NHL or NFL game? Exactly.

Ahhhhh hahaha ROTFLMAO! I actually liked the XFL :( but it just wasn't as hardcore enough as they were always talking about. It was more rougher though I do find it funny how it couldn't even last 1 season :p with Billion Dollar budjet Vince backing it up.

  Go figures I should have saw that one coming. I forgot EA bought the rights for the Unreal Series and were talking about how Unreal 3 and 4 and Unreal Tournament 2, 3 and 4 were already licensed to be made otherwise Epic would have a huge fine if they didn't make those games in the franchise. So all the unreal games from now on can suck but it dont matter since Unreal is planning on going into a yearly update no matter how many copys they sell. :\ this sucks alot!

Yup this sucks big time. But I guess it was inevitable, you have a game as imensly popular as the Unreal series, they are without a doubt going to make sequals and drive the game into the ground until everyone's sick and tired of it. I wonder what big game is next in line for this kind of treatment?
