I have the game Tomb Raider Chronicles and recently the game crapped out. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it with no luck. I see on the system requirements that its Windows 95/98/ME compatible, but it says nothing about Win2K.
Also, I get this message when I start the game up:

The instruction at "0x004a8054" referenced memory at "0x00000000."
The memory could not be "read."

Also, in the debugger in my MS Visual 6.0 has a marker on this line that reads:

004a8054 mov ecx.dword ptr [eax]

which looks like it is some kind of regedit line but I couldn't find it within the registry. I could be wrong about it being in regedit.

Does anyone know what this is and how to fix the game?

What you're seeing is assembly code, and it's pretty much impossible to fix the game yourself! Try running the game in Win98 compatibility mode (via right click, properties -> compatibility) or try getting a patch.

Thank you very much DardAvenger!! I have emailed eidios and core design many times with nothing that even came close to helping me. This has been going on for over 6 months. I looked on the website form some kind of patch to help but didn't find any patch. I have installed the patch and it seems to work. THANK YOU!!!
