the Official Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo will be released on May 24th 2002 and then the Game should hit the streets on 27.06.2002!

and

3D Realms' George Broussard updated his .plan with word that Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project, the 3D platform action game developed by Sunstorm Interactive, has gone gold. The game is expected to arrive on store shelves "in a couple of weeks."

I second that. I have had such a bad feeling about hearing the release date back in December when it was announced in January. This feels like its getting pushed just too fast for me. Maybe because its got a new sports name and sport type game play options and is being released before Unreal 2...I dunno ;) lets just pray it dont disappoint like you said.

I highly recommend trying the original UT first. It is such a great game!

True...you should first try out the original and see if you like its gameplay style before buying the sequel to the game first. Also you can get UT GOTY edition with 3 of the biggest MODS included for about $10-$15 in your local store.

Just so you know today it was announced on VoodooExtreme.com that Unreal Tournament 2003 just has been delayed another month :-\ so it wont be out until mid-July instead of end the last week of June.

A big thanks goes out to Tycho for letting me know that UnrealOps has an email from Infogrames PR man Matt. The email notifies us that UT 2003 is back on track, and still shooting for a June release. Here’s the email:
We are still shooting for a June ship in North America. It takes time to localize the game for all the different countries, which is why in Europe and other parts of the world, the game will likely hit store shelves a little later then North America.

hopefully this clears up any release date issues but i can't vouch for how good the information is

as for you hoping that Doom3 will be better, it wont be likely as Id Software hasnt yet confirmed that it will feature multiplayer deathmatch, they have the game set to be a scary and realistic game, not fast and insane like the previous ones. And, UT2k3 will be InSaNe!!!

Likely at that price it will have an absolute POS video card and will likely be on an SDRAM based board. For the P4 you need RDRAM or a board supporting PC2700 DDR to make use of the P4's potential. A good video card is a given, and that system won't have it.

and UT2005 will be better than Doom3. Its kind of the thing about games. The longer time goes on, the better games get.

I cant stand it when people crap on threads about games that are 12+ months away when the topic is about a game coming out (knock on wood) this summer, but thats just me.

I am kind of wondering if I will be dispaointed though. not a big fan of the "sports" theme. The box art screams Electronic arts sports game. But as long as the gameplay is as good as UT, I will be one happy camper...no pun intended :)
