Why did you make editing posts disabled after 10 minutes? Can you please change it to forever?

Many things can be fixed with a simple update post. If you made a mistake or have changed your opinion...I think it shows more integrity to openly admit it.

I've never noticed that myself. I didn't know it was/is an epidemic here. My only concern was if you wanted to edit something correctly for statistical search engine purposes, instead of leaving false info behind.

I would prefer it be unlimited myself.

I forgot to mention the possible up rise of "Test" threads that could ensue as a result of this change.

Why do you forsee a "test" increase?

People want to test out the vBulletin functions for image hosting and coding etc. That's where old forgotten threads come into play. If no one has access an old thread to do a quick vB code test, they must make a new one every time. I realize that members should be rescourcefull enough to pre-prepare posts for grammar etc, but with host testing there's no safety net now. So people may start creating useless test threads that will have nothing to do with the forum topic. I could live without the unlimited edit feature, but I wanted to add that extra note.

Just another turn of the screw and a way to make our lives more difficult?

Seems this site is really picky on rules and regs and stuff like that; too bad this site got sold to seemingly control freaks.

I can't think of any good reason not to be able to edit posts; I used to do it all the time. It just adds more posts to have to correct stuff now.

Lets worry less about the advertisers and more about the people that use and post at this site!!!

Anyone ever hear of banner ad boycotts to get their way?

HE, HE...edits seem to be working now

Actually, the issue is with VB forums not displaying an edit tag. Some of the mods responded to posts and the user/s was editing the post and since the tags weren't correctly being displayed, it made the mod look really bad. Once i get the edit tags working, it'll be changed back to letting you edit forever. For now, just try and deal with this horrible time limit on post editing. Then again, maybe its implimented just because we're "control freaks". I'll let you decide...
=P

At any rate, i hope to have this fixed in the near future :)

It certainly would have been useful for me last week. I tried to moderate a rather heated response I made in that 'Palladium' thread in HT, shortly after posting it, and was blocked from doing so. I didn't want to follow up with a phony apology, either, when what was called for was a quick edit of my heated response into a carefully phrased explanation of my position. Without having to bother the site administrator.

Also, I'd like to know why that thread was deleted. I wanted to respond to some of the other posts in it. I sent an email to one of the forum moderators two days ago, inquiring as to why the topic was deleted without warning, and I'm still waiting for a reply. It seems odd though, since other moderators, as well as Vince Freeman, were participating in the discussion.

Anyway, thanks CaTaLyST & keep up the good work.
