Adisharr + avatar

I just noticed this (call me slack-jawed if you will) but how comes adisharr has a custom avatar when he isnt a mod? im not complaining or anything im jus slightly confused. have i missed something?

And if you dont' actually want to read through that thread this is the reason:

Back in the day (back in 2000) when the forums were young members could have custom avatars not dependent on post count, so when they switched it to the 5k post count the poeple already with custom avs got to keep them :p

FaTs isn't a mod or over 5k posts either...but he also has a custom avatar...cause those pplz joined right when SF started...and at that time...u could upload your own avatar...but as it grew...it became too difficult to manage...

but those few who were the original SF pplz...they still have their own avatars...lol

If i'm not mistaken, ppl couldn't upload their own av's until the swtich to VB. And FaTs was a former mod.

yeah, it wasn't really an "upload" you had to send it in
