I think he got it for free.

Big thanks to Frank of AcrylicPC (www.acrylicpc.ca) who came through with a custom designed case that exceeded our expectation. He personally devoted a great deal of time and effort in making things happen.

hmale top notch job, you put a lot of work into it and it shows :)

However I do have a small warning;

I have a 72x Kenwood as well, it died for the second time last week. My drive died because of WinXP, the firmware and chip on the CDROM is incompatible with XP, and because of this after a period of time it will fry. This is why my first one died, and why my second one died. Since my warranty is up I am out of luck and must buy a different CDROM (the 72x will be missed). So my advice is to sell it while you can by either just taking it out and selling it, or RMAing it first (requires proof of purchase within that was less than a year ago) and then selling it. If you use XP you really need to sell it or switch OS' because that drive will be no more in a few months; my last one only lasted three months. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but I talked to a few Kenwood reps and that's the info they gave me. Good Luck and let me know how it works out. :)

shouldn't they give the customers the benefit of the doubt? i mean, how were you supposed to know that the firmware and the chip weren't compatible with XP? they should at least let you RMA one last time, since they didn't tell you about this defect :rolleyes:

The warning was when they recalled the 52-72x TrueX drives almost a year ago. The last OS it was guaranteed to work with was MS ME :)

Geez, that case makes that motherboard look so small. I'm in awe of that case. I go to a lot of LAN's so I'd want to show that off. The only downfall on that would be scratches, fingerprints, and a bumpy car ride to who knows where. I think that would make a pretty cool "stay at home" computer though. =)
