When is Fallout 3 coming out?

Does anyone know when its coming out? I remember reading a long time ago, that it was in development, and that it will go back to the RPG system (thank god). Does anyone know any current news or has links to current info about it? thanks.

The last I head is that it has not yet been announced, leaving no clue as to whether devlopment has or will ever be started.

Thats terrible. I remember reading an interview with one of the lead programmers with black isle, and he even said the title may have been Fallout Fantasy, and he said some detailed info.. But like I said, this was back when Fallout Tactics had been released for about 2 months. So it was old news. I guess they changed their minds.

Fallout Fantasy was the codename for Lionheart, a quasi-historical RPG using the SPECIAL system (that was used in Fallout). Lionheart isn't being made by the Fallout guys though, its the company who did a recent Star Trek game which I'm too lazy to look up right now.

Fallout 3 looks to be a ways away. I'm pretty sure they'll make it eventually as the first 2 were very well received. I'm thinking prehaps they're waiting to be able to do it in a 3D style that will do justice to the previous games and maintain the same atmosphere.

I just finished Fallout Tactics (again) two days ago. What a great game that was :)
