vb6 or vb.net...!?

i'm new to programming, should i learn visualbasic 6 first or should i go to visual basic.net directly? thanx

I am a consultant and have been coding in VB since VB3 in 1992. From what I understand, .Net is quite different from VB6. It has moved VB in a more object oriented direction. If it were me, I would go straight to .Net. One caveat with this is, there may be more work using VB6 then .Net for a time as so many systems need to be supported that were written before .Net.
