I need to know what kind of battery to get for this laptop. I don't use laptops so I don't know if the batteries change between newer models and old. How do I know if a battery I am looking at will work? Do they typically list all the laptops it will work with or do all laptops take the same batteries? Thanks.

There are many different batteries for the ThinkPad line of notebooks. There should be a model number on the bottom of the notebook. Use that number when searching for a battery. BTW they are not cheap. Many cost well over $100 each at discount.

Should I get a Lithium battery?? Are there any certain kinds that I should try to get? Thanks for the reply.

I doubt if you will have a choice for the ThinkPad. It will be a lithium battery.
