It's too bad that Duke Nukem Forever was never a benchmark. I would have loved to have downloaded a leaked beta of it. (or whatever the hell stage that game's in at this point)
I haven't downloaded the leaked Doom III because I care about the quality of that project, especially since I saw it first hand at E3.
I feel different about DNF because it's just rediculous how long this game is actually taking and by the time it comes out will anyone really be impressed with its interactivity/features.
Just think about the fact that Splinter Cell, Unreal 2, Doom III, and Deus Ex 2 will most likely be out on PC before it, with much better graphics, specutively equal the amount of interactivity with the environment. Unreal 2's arsenal will possibly beat out the weaponry of DNF as well.
All I'm hoping is that this game better have more than just strippers and shooting out lights.
Your thoughts?

Well, that one at the end of the trailer was pretty nice but not worth a 6 year hiatus.

Look at the bright side. You will have something in common with your grand children. They will also be waiting for DNF to come out :)

There is still a possibility of beating me :) Even though I'm 24.

Haha, don't be so cynical ewitte. :)
And count me in with those that have given up on DNF.

Hopefully they will release it one of these days. Otherwise, all that time and money has gone to waste.

It's too early to judge how it'll turn out. Once the media blitz starts, we'll see. Don't count it out until you have more information, for all you know, this could be the most innovative title EVER. Or not. But one thing is for sure, quality takes time. Granted there have been mistakes along the way ...
But uhhh, if I came across a leaked alpha (maybe a pre-pre-pre-alpha ;) ) I doubt I would get very far into it, I'd just see how it runs and then probably get rid of it.

Doomah, aren't your temps on your CPU a bit high?

Nope, just more accurate. The motherboard reads the temp right off the core ... which can be 10 or 15 degrees higher than what's reported as "normal". If you're looking to compare temps, then you'd look at my "main system" temp. I'll change my sig to make it a little less odd. :)

30s-40s doesn't seem high to me...or did Doomah update his sig already? :)
I think DNF is a case where a game company spoke too soon about an upcoming product. It would have been better for them to hold off saying anything until they were far closer to completion, and not seeding hype so early that it has time to die down again.
