What is the best mobile Graphic card

If you read my sig you can see i got a geforce 2 on my I8100. I want to upgrade cause i am sick of getting ten fps. I can wait a while till A new good card comes out. My dream would be to have a 128mb video card in it but, I don't now when one would come out. THe NVidia 4200 Go looks cool and so does the ATi 9000 mobility. But are they powerful enough?

ATI Mobility is the only board that I know of thats available in 64 or 128mb I have the 128 version running a 16"UXGA screen on a Sager, does just fine for most apps. Brems

Says there (from ATI.com)that it on lt comes in 32mb and 64mb.
Did you mean 128-bit? I don't know maybe this info is out of date or something.

I just want the best card for gaming.

By the way it seems the 460 go is better than 4200 go.

There are 128MB versions of M9 shipping in sager's 8887 model. I'm still a bit confused by the descrepency on ATI's website but it has been confirmed.

While the specs show that the MX460 to be faster, that's not true.

The GeForce4 Ti4200 Go is faster than both the 460 Go and the Radeon 9000 Mobility. Performance-wise the 4200 Go is the best for a laptop but it may not be the best in terms of power consumption.

Just to make sure I understand... From the posts in this thread, I was getting the impression that you might be wanting to purchase a new graphics card for your current laptop. That's not what you're thinking, is it?

Laptop graphics cards typically aren't upgradeable. They're not designed to fit a specific physical form factor like PCI or AGP for a desktop. Laptop graphics cards are built to fit in the specific model they were designed for, and that's pretty much it. If you want to upgrade the graphics card, you generally replace the laptop.

Actually, the Dell Inspiron 8200 video card is able to be changed out independant of the motherboard. I read about someone doing that on the Dell customer service forums.

Not sure about the 4150. You might want to try posting on the official Dell support forums, where Dell mods know what you can do, or call Dell themselves and ask.

Seems like a lot of ppl still don't know that Dell lappys are one of the most upgradeable laptops around. You can switch the pretty much any part of the system, including the cpu, hd, ram, lcd screen, vcard, optical drive, and even the mobo I believe. So pretty much the whole thing. :D

Pinchy, how do you like that notebook? Is the Radeon card pretty fast?

It runs fine for everything that I've used. I expect that it doesn't do too hot in high demand 3d games. I've only used Counterstrike on it. It didn't seem very taxing, it ran fine. DVD wise, etc, it works great.

I just saw the ATi 9600-M and I think I want one, It will work on my I8100 but it voids the warrenty (expired in october)

You can add an extended warranty to it whenever you want I think. But they have to access it first.
