XP1800 06-16-2003, 11:59 PM Ditch that Zalman HSF and go with a Thermalright SLK-900U, now thats some serious cooling for that rig... |_053|2 06-17-2003, 05:43 PM I think I just shat myself reading that! ishak540m 06-17-2003, 05:58 PM Originally posted by |_053|2 I think I just shat myself reading that! ParrotHead 06-17-2003, 06:11 PM Do you really need to list IDE cables in your sig? ishak540m 06-17-2003, 06:14 PM Originally posted by ParrotHead Do you really need to list IDE cables in your sig? LOL, nope. just listed what was in my inventory. Cut and pasted really. I had taken out a few thing sbut forgot those. edit: IDE cable removed. ParrotHead 06-17-2003, 06:26 PM Curious, what was the total cost for your new rig? ishak540m 06-17-2003, 06:28 PM Originally posted by ParrotHead Curious, what was the total cost for your new rig? I had ABS custom make it so it's $2600 total. tad expensive. imayoda 06-17-2003, 06:29 PM Great looking rig you've got there Ishak540m. ishak540m 06-17-2003, 06:47 PM Originally posted by imayoda Great looking rig you've got there Ishak540m. What do you think I could pull Benchmarking it @ stock and then overclocked? |_053|2 06-18-2003, 01:34 AM Originally posted by |_053|2 I think I just shat myself reading that! because thats one badass system ishak540m 06-18-2003, 01:59 AM Originally posted by |_053|2 because thats one badass system lol, thanks. talldude 06-18-2003, 02:07 AM Ahhh....you could have built it yourself for $500 less. ;) Very nice rig though. :) ishak540m 06-18-2003, 02:13 AM Originally posted by talldude Ahhh....you could have built it yourself for $500 less. ;) Very nice rig though. :) If you say so. I decided not to do it myself a long time ago. I did the math as well. I live in California. You have to account for the taxes. etc. talldude 06-18-2003, 02:19 AM Ok...that makes more sense. What's it, like 8% tax? I guess the warranty etc. count for something also. I've always built my own rig so i'm certainly biased towards doing it that way ;). ishak540m 06-18-2003, 03:02 AM Originally posted by talldude Ok...that makes more sense. What's it, like 8% tax? I work too much to be able to fix something myself so an onsite service warranty is important to me as well. mynameis 06-18-2003, 03:08 AM Why did you go with the FX 5900 Ultra? lonewolfroger 06-18-2003, 03:12 AM Originally posted by ishak540m What do you think I could pull Benchmarking it @ stock and then overclocked? I would guess a little over 17K stock and 19K or more overclocked if you are using 3D Mark 2001 SE. My first rig was a PI 150MHz IBM Aptiva with a kick a$$ HP Deskjet 600 and 3 year warranty for a fat $3500. talldude 06-19-2003, 01:03 AM Originally posted by Mike00 My first rig was a PI 150MHz IBM Aptiva with a kick a$$ HP Deskjet 600 and 3 year warranty for a fat $3500. I bought a P200mmx rig for about 3.5K also. That was way back in the day though...it had all the goodies. Computer prices have gone down a lot in the last 10 years, especially if you factor in inflation. That 3.5K rig would be like $4500 today (estimation based on 3% inflation over 10 years).
