Ignitionator 06-17-2003, 02:50 AM General Hardware isn't enough? stereosteve99 06-17-2003, 12:51 PM Gneral hardware isn't enough. When you have a great site that is supposed to be "SharkyExtreme", no it isn't. That's just like going to a performace race super sport motorcycle's forum, and having general upgrades. These need to be broken down. It makes it easier for the users and is highly better for organization. Ignitionator 06-17-2003, 12:53 PM Yeah, I guess I see your point. Let's have an AMD forum and an Intel Forum. And then specific motherboard brand name forums :) Mr Cherry 06-17-2003, 12:58 PM Originally posted by Ignitionator Yeah, I guess I see your point. KommisMar 06-17-2003, 01:15 PM You'd be surprised, a lot of people have actually been waiting for this one. imayoda 06-17-2003, 02:00 PM What is General Hardware supposed to be for now, the "What do you think about my new rig" threads? Mice and keyboards discussion? :) Colossus 06-17-2003, 02:07 PM Originally posted by Ignitionator Yeah, I guess I see your point. Let's have an AMD forum and an Intel Forum. Mice and keyboards discussion? :) You can post anything you want in there. Just because you OC'd your chip to a certain speed doesn't mean you have to post it in the OC'ing section. General Hardware is the Kingdom (so to speak) of the forum. Everything else is just like a Phylum. Basically Gen Hardware is basically a place for the n00bs to learn how things work here first. Then once they are done with the help me build my system threads, they can contribute in other areas. It's like the test everyone has to pass before contributing to other forums. :) The most common thread in there is still the system check stuff. I do agree though, with the HDD stuff in here it might take a hit. However, it is better because then we have stuff sorted very easily. Also, a seperate OCing forum for AMD and Intel would be awesome. It would eliminate the flame wars, and things would run much smoother (IMO). All I know is I remember a mod saying that this would never happen so I guess it's just wishful thinking. :) Sandro 06-17-2003, 04:10 PM Great idea. I think this has been needed for quite some time. So, aside from general hardware, where do memory-related topics go? richardginn 06-17-2003, 05:47 PM Well this is a nice idea. I will try to help people out in this forum as much as possible. gateways_rule 06-17-2003, 11:14 PM Great move sharkys! I have always wanted a forum like this. :) Ignitionator 06-17-2003, 11:57 PM Originally posted by Colossus I would like an ATI and nVidia forum :) :D Oh I 2nd that! :D Ashpool 06-18-2003, 11:58 AM Originally posted by a few guys I want AMD/Intel and ATi/nVidia seperate You don't want to know how many times people have been denied for this. vertices 06-18-2003, 08:30 PM Originally posted by Ashpool You don't want to know how many times people have been denied for this. I don't see why it's such a big deal. Almost every other forum has intel and AMD separated. I prefer them separated. CaTaLyST 06-25-2003, 10:44 AM I would not expect to have too many more forums. I doubt that I would ever go with those brand name based forums. Having both types of users in the same forum, keeps everyone on top of their game, because they are constantly trying to out do each other. The result is that it keeps all more informed, though it is at the cost of a few heated debates. SharkyExtreme.com
