Hello friends,

I am looking for a way to completely copy EVERYTHING off of a disk onto another. I want to make a complete clone of the first hard disk, down to the boot up and such. Then I want to yank the original, insert the clone and NOT miss a single step.

I mismanaged my storage resources, and I do not feel like reloading or buying more storage.

The glitch
THe original drive and the clone drive are two different sizes and different companies (but the information on the original drive will easily fit on the target).

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Liver

Try Norton Ghost. link (http://www.symantec.com/sabu/ghost/ghost_personal/)

Try Acronis Trueimage. Nortons Ghost is great also, but trueimage is supposedly more windows friendly and easier to use.

I use HDCopy. It's a small program you can get off of download.com if you want. It's free, and works quickly, without all the clutter of some of the others.

As far as I have been able to see, it's a true binary copy. It's been nice to use when I went from a 34GB IBM drive, to my current 80GB Seagate.

I also use it to make a weekly backup on a drive I keep out of the system otherwise. I'm tired of losing all my data every time I reinstall windows. heh
