Dual RIAD 0 with Raptors and WD

I do a lot of (very intensive) disk streaming and disk writing for music, so I think RAID 0 might be good for me - but I have no idea how to set it up.

I was thinking about setting up 2 Raptors in a RAID 0 and then 2 WD 120, 160, or 200GB in a RAID 0. My questions:

(1) I think I'll be getting the Asus P4C800 Deluxe-E - Can this mobo set up two different RAID 0 arrays, one SATA (Raptors) one PATA (WD's), with it's onboard features? Or do I need an extra RAID card?

(2) With a RAID 0 array you get to keep all the HD space, right? Meaning - if I had 2 Raptors and 2 160GB WD's, in my system I would see one Raptor drive with a space of 73.4GB and one WD drive with a space of 320GB.

1. No the board probably only has RAID support for the SATA drives and you would need to get a PCI card if you wanted to run PATA RAID also.

2. Yes, the size is the same in a RAID 0 configuration.

Although I have not tried it yet (I settled for sata raid + 4 non raid pata devices), my P4C800 delux manual says that in WinXP/2000 you can attach 6 IDE devices (pg 2-23). It also says that you can "also set up the UltraATA 133 hard disks with the Serial ATA hard disks on the Serial ATA RAID connectors to create a multi-RAID configuration." (pg 2-25). Section 5.4 of the manual explains how to set up four disks (2 SATA and 2 PATA) into RAID 0, 1, 1+0, or JBOD.

IDE1 = 2
IDE2 = 2
IDE3 = 2
SATA1 = 1
SATA2 = 1
The problem is that I couldn't figure out if IDE3 can be used outside the RAID array if you wished to just use the two SATA ports in RAID. And I think the -E mobo moved the SATA ports to a dedicated bus.
