ok guys, it's finally finished...i must've started this case abouv 7 months ago, or more....kinda chipped away at it a bit here and there, got really discouraged at one point because i had to repaint the entire top panel. but it's all done now, my friend helped me put the finishing touches on all the wiring for the fan's and lights, and i think it turned out really nice, despite the little chip my friend made in the top panel :p ;) :D anyways, here's some pics...the camera isn't the greatest, so bear with me on the dark shots...

 Nice work. I'm a VERY critical person (only found 1 or 2 modded cases in my life that I actually like) and I like it - particularly in the dark, with the green lights. Nice case flow, too! :D

Looks good man, especially the paint, that definately stands out. I really like it. But one question...why all the side fans?

heh, because i wanted them i guess, i wanted a lot of air flow....there's about 250cfm worth of intake on that side, plus another 80 from the front bezel (cut a duct in the plastic where it goes from white to green, so it can actually pull air in), and about 170cfm of exhaust from the top 2 120mm's...i've got all the fans routed to a 5v/12v switch so i can make the thing really quiet if i need to, but even with all 6 120mm's at full bore it's not too bad...kinda a low whoosh sound than a whir.

Geez...thats alot of cfm:D

What kind of case temps do you get? If you haven't picked up on it, I a case cooling nerd:cool:

well, compared to my old case i've dropped my full load temps by 4-5 degrees for the cpu and 2-3 degrees for the system temps

this 8rda has always read high system temps, but my room is also unordinarily warm, especially in the summer...right now i'm running the 120's on the low 5v setting, and i'm sitting 30 case, 42 cpu (running folding and a few other things)

Man, I love those blowholes. They look/work fantastic.

Your case makes me want to start a new one of mine, and make it good!!!

Very nice work indeed.

What was your process for painting? It came out beautiful.

I'm not a huge fan of blowholes, but yours are well done.

the painting takes a LOT of time to get it that shiny...i pretty much followed these 2 guides...

case painting 101 (solid colors) (http://www.pc-workshop.net/articles/paint101/paint101-1.shtml)
case painting 102 (metalflake/pearl colors) (http://www.pc-workshop.net/articles/paint102/paint102-1.shtml)

...and it came out really nice. the only gripe i have is that the paint i used (duplicolor automotive) seems to want to chip kinda easily, so i have to be somewhat careful with the panels of this case, it's definately not a LAN traveler, but it's really shiny :)

Man, I'm having enough trouble getting my paint to lie flat! Let alone as shiny as that! Bleh! :(

Hey, that kind of rhymed... Yeah. :D

Wow, that's one of the coolest mods I've seen in a while. Great job, very professional! Makes me want to try something like that too :p

VERY NICE, NOTHING BEAT THAT MANY 120MM fans. I wish some of these case compnaies would get a clue and start making cases like that. Antec comes close w/ a couple of their models though (w/ 120mm intake and exhaust).

I like it... But too many fans :)

Doesnt that kill the purpose of the window???

I like the green... I still havent decided what color I want for my case..

Captain, that the guideline I followed with Big Blue. I used Duplicolor, your right about the chipping. How many coats paint and wax?? I used 3 coats of paint and used Rubbing Compound and Wax on the panels but for the front I used 3-coats of clearcoat.. Looks Great don't ya love that shine... Here's a tip for the small nics and chips you get. Take the paint and spray it into a small bowl (Disposable), use a small paint brush while its still wet and touch up the spots. Try not to glob it on. They also sell the touchup bottles to match the same paint but hey I still had some in the can. Let it dry good and add wax or polish etc...

With all that CFM, I am surprised it doesn't blow your case over. LOL I have finally quieted down my tornado's with the fan controller. Good Job and thanks for posting them. BTW, did you vote yet??

TAZ, i used 2 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear on the sides and top, and for small part of the front bezel that is painted i used 2 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear. then i used rubbing compound on the top and panels to get the sanding marks out, and finished the whole thing off with a single coat of meguiars polish and then meguiars wax (steps 2 and 3 of their "deep crystal system")...i've still got some paint in a can around here too, so i'll have to do a little touchin up, thanks for the tip :)

Colossus, i had originally planned on doing just the case without the lights and mounting the fans on the metal panel, but this case came pre-modded with an 80mm hole where i didn't want ANY hole, and the handle on the panel was kinda in the way so i just decided to cut the whole thing out and mount the fans on a window.

great job! very well done...w/ good attention to detail...a little too many fans for my taste...kinda obstructs airflow more than increases it.

very nice and professional job! how long do you think it took you (total) for just the paint job? and those blow holes look nice, but overall looks like a few too many fans...usually it is better to have a negative pressure inside the case (helps with cooling). you have four sucking in and how many blowing out? just curious. either way...looks good!
