I need 1 Floppy, and 2 ATA100 IDE cables...
What brands are good (and cheap).
I need them all three blue of some kind.
And are 24inch cables too long for hard drives? are they okay for CD-RW/DVD+RW drives?
Or should I stick to all 18 inch cables?

I wub my UV single channel round IDE cables. They're completely clear, but under a UV CCFL they're a deep blue.
I regret getting 18" harddisk cables. They're way too long for where they go in my case.

Trav, check out the cables at svc.com, unless you HAVE to order from newegg. Antec makes good ones but they will cost alot. Also, try not to go over 18 inches in length:)

Everybody loves the Newegg ;)
And no, I don't have to order at newegg... so I might wind up going with SVC.
The thing is if I decide to get the IC7 Abit board then It has 2 rounded IDE cables already and i'll i'd need was one for the floppy :) in which case i'll probably just buy the cheapest piece of crap off newegg anyway.
Cuz everybody hates Mr. Floppy. The floppy drive is the most persecuted of all hardware items :)

Yeah they do, Mr. Floppy gets no luv :p Still, in this day and age there's very few things you'd actually NEED to have a floppy for. The only thing I can think of is for flashing your BIOS or having an emergency start-up disk of some sort. Everything else can be sent through e-mail, ftp, of CD.

My brother and I did it... There's a movie of it floating around my house on a floppy disk somewhere.
But ughh... Seeing as I have no floppy drive to take the disk... I'm kinda outta luck in getting it to y'all. lol

Okay guys, i'll be getting (most likely) the IC7 mobo. So i won't need some of the rounded IDE cables.
I'm looking at the IC7 picture on newegg, and I can't tell if that single cable is a floppy or an IDE cable.
If it's IDE, i'll need another one of those since i'll have 2HDD's and 2 Optical Drives, thus needed 2 IDE cables with 3 connectors each.
If this is the case i'll also need a cheap rounded floppy cable.
If that long one is the floppy cable then i'll not need one of those and just need an ATA100 IDE cable...
So what should I go with. I think i'll go black since thats what the color of the ones with the ABit board are...

i'll second that. svc rocks so much. one time, i made an order, clicked the wrong thing, ordered the wrong cable, and they sent me the right one for free after i called them and told them it was MY mistake.

i definitely agree. with cooling equipment and other cables, etc...SVC is usually cheaper than newegg! so it is definitely worth checking out when buying cooling supplies and other things that pertain to that (etc.)
edit - stupid word choice error...
