Walmart says they get it tomorrow?

JustW

I was browsing GoGamer, contemplating on whether or not to buy it, and it said it shipped the 23rd. So maybe they are releasing it a week early?

--edit--
Went to check, and it looks like they've changed their date to the projected 30th.

Pre-Order: Ships on 11/14/2003

Thats what EBGames claims.

UK RELEASE: 14-Nov-2003 | US RELEASE: 13-Nov-2003 | STATUS:

Thats what ToTheGame.com claims and they are VERY reliable. It hasnt even gone gold yet which would be impossible to release for a game like this in such short time. It would probably go gold at least 2 weeks before its release.

Logistics you guys...the games dont just magically appear wrapped and ready to ship in 5 seconds to be ready the 30th. After a game has gone gold you need at least 2-3 weeks to get everything MADE, shipped and packaged. More then likely they already start production long before they go gold anyway.

You have a better chance of being struck by a meteor the size of texas than having HL2 comming out the 30th.

Mancora

I believe going gold means they arent going to alter the code any more, so i would vneture to guess the games are almost always gold before they get produced.

When a game goes gold, that means discs are sent off for duplication and shipping.

Amazon says that it is going to be released the on December 1, 2003. If you want to say it is based on no facts, I recommend you get your Canadian derrier down to Bellvue, Washington and ask Valve in person.

LOL thank you. Seriously we can go for hours on end saying "You have no proof" but look at things realistically, if everyone is saying it wont be here by the 30th chances are they arent going to magically make us shat our pants on the 30th when it suprisingly gets released.

Getting back on topic, I'm more excited for Halo to come out than Half LIfe 2.

Why? My rig won't play HL2 so I don't give a sh!t. Now Halo on the other hand is the most kicka$$ game for XBox, and even if I get 1fps, I'll still play it.

:D

I don't buy many games, but Halo's probably one I'll have to pick up (especially now that HL2's been delayed). I have high hopes for the multiplayer portion...

Lemme tell ya first hand, this is the way Halo should be played! WASD puts the controller to shame. The beta is addictive too!

I know it is. ;)

That's always been my gripe with console shooters... those damned controllers are so awkward. Mouselook and WASD can't be beat.

Does anyone know if it's gonna have co-op play thru a network?

Some history.
Bungie makes HALO.
Before MicroSoft bought them, Bungie made games for the Macs only.
Microsoft bought Bungie within months of HALO being released on the Mac.
Ponder that for sec.

Seems to have hit the "scene" a few days early as usual. I'm gonna give it a try until it hits retail stores.

I am pretty sure it is, just like it was for X-Box. They are definitally going for that Serious Sam theme last time I checked. Although they will include a 32 player MP. That is what I can hardly wait for. I wonder if it will play on my 1Ghz GF2 Pro :(?

Nope. Far as I know, there are no plans to port Halo2 to PC.

After playing 2 levels, I'd say this game is average. It's okay, but it's not the greatest. Low poly models, low rez textures...you can tell it's a port.:(

What engine is this running on? It reminds of Halflife 1 graphics.;)

Agreed. Playing it on the X-Box is 10x more funner if you ask me. The game would have been awesome if it came out on time (2 years ago for the PC) but alas it did not and was mistakenly and foolishly releaed 2 years later. I fear to see Halo 2 when it comes to the PC in about 4 years (pun).

eh...it comes out on 3 days...I never played it on the x-box so I'll probably buy it for both the single player and multiplayer...

Foolish? i doubt that.

From what i understand this is one of the Xboxs flagship titles, it just helps add insult to injury to the PC users by releasing this thing just as Halo 2 is coming out for the Xbox.

From the 2nd level on, Halo is pretty good. First level is total crap, gfx wise and gameplay wise

It runs like crap, and even when it registers at 50fps on screen the game feels laggy, the locked animations, the bugs, the excuses from gearbox. It's a crappy port of an otherwise decent game, I'm not gambling on when or if they fix everything that's wrong with it, or even if they can. So I returned my copy, and got store credit... Which is either going to XIII, or Call of Duty. So it's no big loss for me, although if Gearbox does come through with the fixes, I'll get it when its in the bargain bin.

I haven't played it yet. My cousin has it for XBox, but .. meh .. I need a demo first.

Every time I play each of these demos, it makes me want them more and more! Screw the mythological HL2 and D3, bring on good games that we'll actually see this year (month!)! :D

Exactly, as people gaze star-eyed into the next 6 months obsessing over games they're not going to play for an extremely long time, I'll be enjoying XIII and C.o.D.

It's not that I don't want HL2/D3 as much as the next gamer, and believe me I do. I just feel that people are unfortunately overlooking some exceptional games that are going to be out within the month.

I've been having alot of fun with the XIII multiplayer demo , it vaguely reminds of goldeneye. I'm not sure if it's the cel-shading but the weapons in XIII are amazing.

Yeah, CoD looks to be killer :) The demo was pretty exciting, but I can see where that would get old pretty quick.

Seems like everyone is getting into a pissing contest over HL2 and D3. They'll probably both suck butt and bomb like a movie made into a game, or a game made into a movie ;) That would be hilarious..:o
