Ok guys, basically I want to take an extra drive bay cover from my PC-60 and fit it over the Sunbeam. The only thing visible will be the knobs and LED's. I just don't know how to start drawing the template onto the drive ba cover:confused:
Any help would be appreciated:p

You could take a magic marker or something that'll wash off and paint it on the end of your knobs and then press down on a sheet of paper.
The marker should come off the Sunbeam.

I could do what you said, but cut inside the lines, since the knobs come off and I don't need the holes to be that big. I'll try this and see how it turns out, but pics won't be up for a while:(

Use a small straightedge and tangent each of the knobs vertically and horizontally, parallel to the top and bottm.
Measure to the tangents from the middle of the gap between the drive bay cover and case (vert&horiz).
Now using one knob, determine the raduis of it and add it to the tangent lines and you will create a crosshair at the center of each knob.
You will probably have to do some serioius but delicate cutting on the sides of the 'beam to push it all the way in behind the plate.
Good luck!

Do you mean on the template I made on paper? I was gonna put the Beam upside down and trace the knobs and the rectangular outside.
Actually, after reading your post over, it makes complete sense and I now exactly how to do this! Thanks DS and Scoobs...and good luck with your current mods;)

Ok my Sunbeam just came right apart, so now I can just trace the holes right onto the Lian-Li drive cover. This was easier than I thought!

Well quick update, I'm done drilling all the holes, and I'm almost done making the 4 onthe bottom wider for the rehobus knobs themselves to stick through.
All thats left is some cutting and making final adjustments!

But yeah, she's done now! I'll try to get pics up ASAP, because it turned out better then I thought. If people get interested in this mod, I'll write up a nice how-to. Sixerfan you should try this, it was sooo easy:) Hell, anyone with a Sunbeam should do this!

imagestation is a pain, though, since you have to be a member to just look at pics. atleast that what it kept telling me. i'd just say get yourself a free webpage and then just make your own webpage and post your pics.
