Hey guys, I got a Promar V770 case /w sidewindow.
I just ordered:
8 "Silent" Coolermaster blue LED Casefans. 80mm. (They were on for half price, and i dont want my case to be too loud.)
Thermalright ALX-800
Green UVreactive expandable psu sleeving. 2 feet 1/2" 10ft of 1/4". On sale. $1.10CAD/ft 1/2", $.50?/ft for 1/4". and 30 UV reactive neon zip ties for .20$ a piece.
Green wouldnt be my first choice.. but i'm all about the sales. lol.
Arctic Silver 5, on sale for $5 canadian.
And a ARtec PSU sound dampner kit.
And 5 Stainless steel Hurricane fan grills (63% off)

HEre are pics of my case:

I was thinking putting 1 of the fans in the side window above the 3d card. and one above the CPU.. but I can only possition it so the fan is over like half of the CPU.. see pic.
2 or 1 blowholes at the top, if they fit side by side, the width of the top of my case is 190mm.
The front and back I just plan to cut out the stock grills, which look like they restrict A LOT of air - am I correct? Same with the fronts, but no grills will go on the front. Look at the front panel of my case, air can only get in through a 1/4 x 3" space, any ideas to improve that?

Thanks, Ideas welcome.

bleh... It didnt go over so well LOL!
First of all, when drilling the top blowhole, the pilot drill bit snapped, and.. big gouge in my case :| Ok, fine, went out and bought a new Holesaw. Front and rear holes went in fine except that the metal contruction of the case is so flimsy (garbag) it bent a bit around the holes - barely any pressure applied too.
Ok, so I start to drill the side panel, get it going through... and wham.. the crappy window shattered.
Haha.

Good and bad in both ways - I wanted a new case anyways.

So... what should I get for a new case?
lol :)

200 canadian... good case so i dont gotta chop it up :) With shipping and 7% government sales tax.

I also do go to lans ALOT - once every month. But it being a a heavy case is no concern. I am a big guy, i can handle it.

It's pretty simple.

Lots of LAN parties = Aluminum case

Best Aluminum case = Lian Li PC-60.

Questions?

The thing is.. I just ordered 8 Case fans last week. And I want to be able to use most of them.
Coolormaster Silent LED Fans. On sale for $5 canadian. 25dba / 32.11cfm, Rifle bearing.
I was planing on using one for the CPU heatsink. (ALX-800) and, 1 Top blowhole, 2 front intake, 2 rear exhaust, 1 cpu side panel, 1 vid card sidepanel.

Any ideas.. Maybe I can just buy a cheap $30 case and mod it? But without a holesaw, use a blowtorch. HAHA jk. Maybe a keyholesaw or something?!?

Or try and fix my case?Buy new sidewindow - get the place to gut the holes - Use sand the top smooth again?

Any more ideas... let me know.

8 is a whole bunch of fans. If you need more holes, CUT 'EM!

Don't forget to look at the 'How-To' sticky. There is a boatload of great info there. TAZ included a great link on Dremel cutting tips:

Dremel Cutting Guide (http://www.mnpctech.com/Dremel)

(There is a section which shows you how to cut perfect cirlces with a cutoff wheel. It's a cinch.)

For the sheet metal, DRxAndy whipped out the Bondo for his project. Maybe that is an option for you too....

The window should be a relatively simple fix. TAP plastics or one of the home improvement stores has the plexi/acrylic you need. Some small screws or double-sided tape to reattach it.

Just a couple of thoughts.
