I use an ASUS motherboard case :p

What do YOU use?

I use a 974 page FreeBSD book. If I don't, the Evo N610c will burn my lap! I have a scar to prove it!

Doesn't that weigh a ton?

A couple low tech solutions

1. Cookie sheet (or some people call it bakers paper???)
2. Cookie board (the hollow aluminum ones)

i was thinking of getting one of these (http://www.cluboverclocker.com/reviews/cooling_devices/antec_nc/).

although these (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=34-999-411&depa=3) and these (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?j=1&type=product&skuId=6211752&id=1074788100200&cmp=++) also look good, so i can't decide. :p

>edit, removed bytecc.

I've tried the commercial laptop coolers. They work OK if the laptop is sitting on a desk. They don't help at all if it is sitting on bare legs as mine does.

I have not tried that Targus model. Running fans from my notebook will shorten it's already short run time between battery charges.

I use that myself.

Dell Latitude C510
1.06GHz Celeron-M
512MB PC133
ATI Radeon-M 16MB-DDR
Toshiba MK4019GAX 40GB 5400RPM 16MB Cache

On idle, with the Antec fan base, the processor sits at 39C, and the Radeon GPU at 40C. That's after six hours of uptime.

On idle, without the Antec fan base, the processor sits at 44C, and the Radeon GPU at 46C. Also after six hours of uptime.

On 100% load, with the Antec fan base, the processor sits at 44C, and the Radeon GPU at 46C. Also after six hours of uptime.

On 100% load, without the Antec fan base, the processor sits at 50C, and the Radeon GPU at 53C. Also after six hours of uptime.

so it seems to help with cooling, definitely. can it be used comfortably on the lap, though?

Well, you are stuck with a hot lap anyways, so I think anything would be more comfortable :p
