Gamespot has next to nothing on this; just that it's ayame and another gal named Rin, and that the game will be called Tenchu: Kurenai. Official page is in japanese.

Aha, very interesting. Rikimaru is the coolest damn character ever, and it sucks that he wont be in the game, but in all liklihood, he'll be an unlockable.

From what I can gather, it looks like its coming out in a couple weeks in Japan.

Tenchu: Kurenai is an Ayame spin off game for the PS2. It takes place during the year Rikimaru is thought to be dead. This means Tenchu: Kurenai takes place before the events of Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven and directly after the events of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.

Got the game, playing now. The lack of any English in the game is tough, but I think I can get by without knowing my missions or any of the story. Seems pretty damn cool so far, you've got the ability to pick up corpses again, and there's a way to sk multiple guys at once now. Also, after you sk someone, they drop a scroll or two or three or four or five. I havent yet figured out how to make them drop more, but it seems like you get something special if you can get 30 in a mission. The highest I've gotten so far is 12, and the highest scrolls I've gotten out of one person has only been 2 so far.

so ive been playing this game for awhile and IMHO its better overall than tenchu 2 and 3.. its got a very good sense of balance and difficulty and the only complaint i have is the view mode

better than Wrath of Heaven...can't wait. Did they bring back the body-drag? And how's the music? 1 and 3 had great music imo.

yeah body drag is back... the controls are almost exactly like WOH's setup... the levels and music however are heavily inspired from Stealth Assassins (the best IMHO)... Ayame is her usual self and Rin is a combination of Tesshu and Ayame... heavy use of taijutsus with some acrobatic flair... both are very weak though and makes you miss rikimaru (i heard he might be an unlockable though).. not far enough yet to find out. Im having a hard time navigating the menus case im not japanese

I think the first song on the first level of the very first tenchu game is one of my favorite game songs. :cool:
