I just got a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion Notebook(ze4805us).

I can't connect to my wireless router. I had a D-Link 802.11b wireless router that worked great with my friends laptop. Initially it would see the router, kept disconnecting every couple seconds. Once I got it to work for almost 1hr with maybe one disconnect. Then the next morning it wouldn't see it again. I tried all kinds of settings on the router. I went out and got another router thinking maybe the 802.11b was the problem. So I got a D-Link AirPlus Extreme G 802.11g router. As soon as it sees it, it stops seeing it. Now it doesn't see it at all.

If I connect it with a cable it works flawlessly.

So I'm pretty sure it's the laptop thats the problem. I still have 1 week left to return it and I can exchange it for the same model or get my money back since it does seem defective. I don't know if its just this one or the series in general that has a crappy wireless section.

What should I do?

Im not sure if this is just a stupid suggestion or not but i have wireless on my laptop and I couldnt connect to my linksys router until I enabled the radio thing on my laptop. Also might see if you need to input a password to access ur wireless network. Hope this helps this is just the newby stuff I learned with setting up my wireless gear a couple weeks ago.

Do you have any security features enabled on the router like WEP, WPA, or MAC address filtering?
