I'm hearing minor rumors that Diablo III is to be announced. Anyone have any info on such a thing?

I think we will see StarCraft 2 before we see Diablo III. I figure it's at least 3-4 years away.

I would imagine that if WoW is a success then a similar format for Diablo would be next. "World of Diablo" maybe.

No way. I'm pretty sure Diablo will stay the way it is. It doesn't lend itself to a MMORPG like WarCraft does.

Diablo 3 would be great, but I also think that we're gonna see Star Craft 2 first. Oh and don't listen to minor rumours people tell you. If it ain't announced on the Blizzard site, then it isn't happening yet.

Rumors? I practically live on a diablo 2 fansite, never heard anything of the sort other than wishful thinking by forums members.
Don't get your hopes up, this is Blizzard after all. Even if they announced it tommorow, there would be the usual ~5 year wait for it to come out.
Also bear in mind a while back, much of the talent for Blizzard left to start their own company, Flagship studios (News Item (http://pc.ign.com/articles/456/456004p1.html)), whether a Diablo 3 would have the same quality as the originals is still in question.

Didn't Blizzard North sorta collapse half-way?
Wasn't it in the news last year that at least 1 of the major domos in the Diablo Team left?
So unless there is first hand info i'd seriously doubt D3 will ever happen.
Shame though...I had visions of Blizzard North daring to venture into the frontier breaking depths of 1024x768 displays ;)

I want to see star craft 2! The sad thing is thats is going to be a FPS named ghost not an RTS game I hoped for.

Starcraft: Ghost isnt Starcraft 2. Its more like Starcraft 1.5: Sellout. Why Blizzard took one of the best RTSs in history and made it a FPS for the console kiddies is beyond me. Hopefully once Blizzard is done with this console and MMORPG nonsense theyll pull their heads out of their ***es and make Starcraft 2 (tho I wouldnt mind a Diablo 3, altho Diablo and all his brothers are now destroyed so it would have to be like Other Evil Sounding Demon Game 3)

Actually i think they just copied what westwood did with C&C:Renegade
(take a popular RTS and turn it into a FPS)

I think Dungeon Siege is probably close to what Diablo 3 will feel like. I agree with the others that we'll see StarCraft 2 before we see Diablo 3. I can't wait. Of course with Dungeon Siege 2 and Freedom Force 2 coming out around the Holidays, I'll have some other toys to play with for a while.

Diablo 3 will never see the daylight.Its makers left Blizzard a lil while ago and are making this (http://www.guildwars.com/) game.I was blown away by it at this year's E3.Believe it or not it plays a lot like Diablo.

Positive reference on my list. I just hope it keeps the damn hackers away. Diablo 2 on Bnet was completely ruined because of hacking (before the bot craze there I used to be in the top 10 of "richest" - in terms of items - players on the Europe servers.)
