These guys work really closely with Bioware, so it's a pretty legit source. December of 2006 is a long way away, but hey, something to look forward to!

I haven't even finished the first one yet, let alone the two expansions. LOL! I'll get back to it someday.

Ugh, more multiplayer :(
Hopefully the single player portion will permit more than 1 npc!

It did in the original.
You and Tomi.
Ahhhh Tomi...I always took Tomi on my adventures.
Tomi just loved to disarm traps..no matter the giant spiders charging us...he also loved to tell that story about the tunnel and the light...:)

NPC...not character.
The problem is, I'm looking for something to get me off of BG2, which I've been playing for far too long. But of the releases since then, Lionheart's NPCs were both useless and boring, TOEE's NPCs were pretty boring as well, NWN's were boring and limited to one, and KOTOR had decent NPCs, but not enough in the party. There's just nothing out that'll give you the NPC interaction found in the BG series.

With the HotU Expansion, more than one NPC in a party was supported, but you weren't given any control of them.

Yeah I ws a bit dispointed with the whole henchmen angle. It would be great if NWN2 followed the parting style of BG2 and allowed for larger parties and more interactive NPCs.

Yeah, it kind of tried to make D&D a single palyer game; BG1&2 really captured the essence of having a party of people, each one capitalizing on the other's strengths and weaknesses. That was part of the challenge; you didn't have to be a spellcaster, but you'd better have one and understand how to organize the spells a little bit or you were going to get eaten alive; your main character may not have been a thief, but there should be someone who can disarm traps or there was going to be a world of hurtin' going on. In NWN, you could ignore traps for the most part, and spells really could be ignored if you wanted to just muscle through the game.

well that and I missed being able to date people in your party...it was nothing special but it helped to add depth to the story and the fact taht some party members couldn't get along was great.

Aerie/Korgan, Minsc/Edwin, and Keldorn/Viconia were all more amusing though. And of course, Haer'daelis stealing away Aerie.
