Vantec Heat Shrink Tube

Ive just tryed yesterday to Sleeve my wires.

I used your Blue Sleeving kit and when i started to shrink the blue heat shrink tubes they do not shrink at all!!!

It looks like a ratio of 1.2 or something. When i have to pass through the HD connector i need to use the 26mm Tube, and theres no way in hell im gonna be able to shrink it so it can hold the Wires.

I tryed everything, lighters, flame, even a soldering gun. Impossible to do.

Anyone already used those things? Or have a better heat shrink tube solution than Vantec's?

Home Depot sells heat shrink tubing in all shapes & sizes.

That's weird that Vantec's is giving you problems? :(

I got the black version of that sleeving kit and it shrunk fine...I used a lighter. You have to get fairly close to it, and make sure to hold it for a second or two, then move it (you don't want to melt the wires!)

Sounds like that is your problem right there. If you're using a big piece of heat shrink tubing to pass over your molex connector it probably isn't going to shrink all the way down tight.

Most people have to remove the molex connectors in order to accomplish what your trying to do, thats about all I can suggest.

Lighter with a black Kit is cool, but the smoke of the lighter makes the blue tube turn carbonized black :P

I think youre right Gar, problem is the Serial ATA Cable cannot be removed. And unfortunatelly, this gonna take me another day withouth being able to use my comp. Nooooo!!

Its not too good. But i plan to make a tribal on the side panel at the aluminium shop close to my house. They can laser cut aluminium sheet :P After that its gonna be better looking.

While im going to work out that Plexi glass window at Home Depot, here are the current setup.

I used a hair dryer to shrink the vantec tubing, dont have to worry as much about melting wires. Gar is right, you definitely need the molex remover tool. Looks good!!

i had no problems whatsoever with the shring tubing just used a hair dryer,but i totaly gave up trying to get the braiding over the molex conectors-just to tight.ive actually managed to hide wires behind the ones that are sheved so not to bad at all.im glad i had a neo power less wires to sleve:)
