Learux 03-04-2005, 12:24 PM Not likely. Go to www.notebookreviews.com A lot of answers there. Also look at www.Ibuypower.com Buy at your own risk they have great deals on computers but I have heard not so good things about their customer service. Call me weird but I prefer to buy a laptop at best buy. It is the only item in the store that needs the extended warranty!! They always break and it is nice to have that piece of mind! Learux masteraleph 03-04-2005, 03:28 PM Sadly, you just missed out on a huge Dell deal, which included a $600 off of $1699 coupon. :( kent1146 03-05-2005, 08:20 PM If you buy used, yes. If you buy new, no. PCJ 03-06-2005, 05:04 PM IMO the ibook at 1000 bucks is decent. See my thread about it. Go to dell site everyday? OR could someone post it in this forum every time they have a good deal like that because I sure would want one of those discounts. kent1146 03-09-2005, 12:57 PM http://www.passwird.com http://www.fatwallet.com Daily updates on deals, coupons, discounts, rebates all over the web. mikeki 03-09-2005, 05:18 PM My inspiron 8600 with a ati mobility 9600pro plays WoW decently. Sometimes it's wailing on the hard drive which I attribute to only have 768MB of RAM. It was more than $1100 though, but not much... mikeki 03-09-2005, 05:25 PM Originally posted by Fedka When and where can you find these kind of deals. Go to dell site everyday? Link Here (http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/deals/) You can get an inspiron 8600 with Mobility 9600pro 256MB (buy another 512MB from Newegg or elsewhere) including port replicator and stand for $1126 after $600 discount. Remove the replicator & stand and add some memory or 7200rpm drive if you like. Not awesome at WoW but definitely very playable. kpxgq 03-09-2005, 05:33 PM get the 600m using tha coupon for $900.... with the mobility 9600.. it plays WOW very nicely and its not a behemoth like the 8000/9000 series mikeki 03-09-2005, 08:45 PM Originally posted by kpxgq get the 600m using tha coupon for $900.... with the mobility 9600.. it plays WOW very nicely and its not a behemoth like the 8000/9000 series I like my behemoth. :) However, if you travel at all or really need something other than a desktop replacement that is transportable, I agree the 600m is the way to go. mikeki 03-09-2005, 08:54 PM I don't see a 600m with a 9600 mobility, only a 9000 mobility. Does that really run WoW ok? mikeki 03-09-2005, 09:15 PM If gaming on your laptop is super important, then you can get a nVidia Go 6800 in a dell 9300. Could probably get that under $1100 with current deals. kent1146 03-10-2005, 07:54 AM Hahaha I ***PROMISE*** you, you will not be able to get the 9300 for anywhere close to $1100 anytime soon. The laptop isn't even out yet. tmbstone 03-10-2005, 06:11 PM I'm leaning towards the i6000 right now. Any opinions on that?? mikeki 03-11-2005, 08:08 PM Originally posted by tmbstone I'm leaning towards the i6000 right now. Any opinions on that?? Assuming this is an Inspiron 6000. I don't own one, so can only comment on specs. Screen looks the same as my 8600 so that should be awesome (I'd get the middle resolution one). It's Celeron mobile which still has a 1MB cache, so it's still a good CPU. The integrated graphics looks to be very weak for gaming with no opportunity to upgrade. Maybe I missed something reading it. SharkyExtreme.com
