Could I put a turion MT in my Compaq V2311US laptop, which is part of the V2000Z series. It has an ML-28 right now and it is my understanding that the MTs have lower battery consumption.

I would think so ... btw, I am interested in the same series (the V2000 actually), how are they?

not much, I think ML is 35 watts and MT's are 25 Watts.

Other than the fact that my battery has lost a significant amount of its charge somehow, I love it. Great screen (make sure you get the glossy type) and performance is good for light light gaming and everyday things. It doesn't weigh much (I had the R3000 series before which was to big to travel with for basketball) and looks good too. You can't go wrong unless you play alot of games.

Most notebook chips are soldered to a system board. The chips are not user swappable.

from what I've seen, most are in sockets ...
