First off I like to thank Soupnazi for his help and others who helped with the minor problems I had. I'm surprised how good it sounds with my modest budget. I've tried multiple movies mostly asian because american movies are just remake after remake. What more can I say other than gaming, HDT OTA, DVDs, Divx are awesome to watch and enjoy on this setup. To think I've only had it up to volume 40 on the receiver and sub around 60%. Thanks again to all that helped me!
Setup:
32" Syntax Olevia
Onkoyo TXSR602
Philips divx 624 player
Terk antenna
Infinity Primus 150
Dayton 12" sub, stands, and cables
Radioshack HDTV OTA tuner

I'm watching a movie called Seven Swords great movie by the way on the Philips. For HDTV OTA it's full screen. I tried the zooming feature on the Philips but picture quality was fuzzy.

No sub pics?;)
Looks like a great setup! You're very welcome and I'm glad I could help. I love the widescreen TV. How do you like those Primuses for music?
PS. Are those speaker stands from Partsexpress?;)

I knew someone was going to mention the no sub pic I'll add that later tonight. For music the Primus sound great and I'm planning on hooking up the Ipod Nano through the dock from the receiver. Yes the speaker stands are from Partsexpress and I'll add sand to it later for more weight.

Pics are a little better but I am watching a movie, so these pics will have to do. I think tomorrow I'll take better when I have time.

I'm jealous of your TV and speaker stands...
Out of curiosity, what was your entire budget for that setup?
I've spent about $850 on my 2.1 audio setup now, including my source (currently the emu 0404). When I get some more money I'll be picking up a DVD player and a HDTV/Projector. Just wanna compare to see how I'm doing, cuz I like your setup!

Thanks and I probably spent about $1800 for the stuff listed! But your audio stuff costs more than mine. I did this on the cheap with quality in mind.

As I'm realizing, i'll end up spending a lot more than you. I was also trying to do this cheaply, but then I let my crazy spending habits in the way...oh well, I'm happy as hell with what I have. The biggest reason I asked was cuz i looked up that TV, and the MSRP on it was like 2.5k or so, but I'm assuming that was when it was released, so prices would have obviously dropped, and I'd imagine you found a good deal on it. A 32" LCD HDTV can't be cheap.

Yeah I got it from Target with a 10% off coupon and free shipping. The quality is actually very good compared to other models that cost more and it uses a LG panel. The HDTV OTA looks awesome, which is why I'm canceling my cable and I don't watch a lot of TV either. You could get it cheaper at Amazon.com now with rebates.

I have got about $1500 in my 3.1 setup right now( including reciever)... My next purchase is going to be tv. I think I am sticking with good ole hidef tube tv as the price is right and I can't get over the quirks of the other technologies right now.....I tell you what this can get to be a VERY expensive hobby....I have got to stop browsing avsforum...

That's why I don't visit sites like avsforum or head-fi because you'll be constantly upgraded even though you're satisfied with your stuff.

hongsc : Question for ya, how do you like that TV? I'm looking to get a new one and those Syntax Olevia units look to be pretty decent (as well as moderately priced). Any problems with it?

Nothing really bad and at the price I got it at I can't complain too much. The SD looks okay (grainy) but the HD OTA is awesome, which is why I'm canceling cable but mostly due to seeing Mean Girls play 4 times a day every week it was like watching the news. I haven't played any PC games mostly console games, divx, dvd, and quality is great. The only bad parts are that the remote's most used functions are not accessible right away, the thing gets dusty, the speakers are not detachable, the black are not as crisp as I would like but that is inherent in the technology, and there is a lag when using s-video from cable box. I notice that people are getting crazy deals on these after MIR at those prices it's a no brainer.
Edit: No HDMI but it has DVI HDCP.

I totally agree with this this statement, but i just cant stop visiting to see whats new...I've been nothing but happy with my Velodyne dps-10 (which i paid 199.99 for :D), my Onkyo tx sr 602, and NHT Sb2's but whenever i read what other people are splurging on, I feel like im really missing out. I then proceed to get depressed, and in an attempt to feel better i online window shop for products costing 5x the cost of my current setup. Yes i am 110% satisfied with my setup, but the forums really make me want to spend more.
btw i am very jealous of your tv. on my budget i should be able to afford something close by the time im 50 years old?

You can get the same LCD TV for $700 AR or less at Microcenter or get a PM at CompUSA or anywhere else that sells it. I paid about $1000 for it but I still think it's worth it you could probably get a 37" for that much.

yeah, i didnt realize this at all when i bought my hdtv a while back, but some movies are filmed in 2:35 aspect ratio which still creates bars although they are smaller than on a 4:3 television. every hd tv show i've seen and dvds that are 1:85 all fit nicely on widescreen tvs with no black bars. i really hate 2:35 aspect ratio because it makes you wonder what's the point of a widescreen tv. i mean, they tend to be more expensive than 4:3 hdtvs so it's kind of like throwing your money away. at least most of the shows i watch come in on local hd channels :D

Congrats man! IIRC I had responded to your HDTV signal questions. Wish I had something like that!
