So i decided to go with the 15" Powerbook...it'll be my first Apple. I'm basically using the net, working on my website and playing WoW on it...and a lot of wireless Internet.

Good choice, I am too abusive to my laptops to every justify spending that much :(

Its really the sweet spot for Apple laptops. 1024x768 resolution on the iBooks and 12in PB sucks, then the 17in is just too big IMO.

They've been out for years.

lol...well i wouldn't get a first version of a new apple..too many bugs and ****...i figure..i'd keep this for a year or so, either sell it or something and pick up the new one down the line.

I used it before, not so bad...change could be fun. I have a desktop with XP, so it's not like i'll be "stuck" with it.

Intel-based Mac laptops probably won't be out for another year (conservatively) or 6 months at the least.

I personally played with one of those recently while staying with a friend -- very nice.

Rumor has it that the Intel iBooks are going to be released at Mac World Expo in January.

Well i bought the PB:

100GB 7200 rpm HD (Apple uses Hitachi)
1GB RAM (1 stick)
128MB ATI gfx card
15"

I plugged the laptop in, filled out some stuff, it basically set itself up, found the wireless network in my house and that was it. It updated itself, took about 5 minutes..dloaded over 400MB worth of updates and that was it. Sound is great, screen is beautiful, i watched a few movie trailers and it was better than my CRT by far.
I had the laptop on my lap for about 2 hours today, didn't get hot what so ever and quiet as a...quiet baby.

All in all..glad i went with it.
