Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Centrino Duo - Intel has the preformance and battery life crowns again!
Here is the initial Review by Anand. Seems the reduction in battery life that happened over the last few generations of the Centrino label are finally over...

Dell have released their 9400 already with the Yonah, trying very hard to hold myself back...

It makes no sense whatsoever either... Why the hell do 2 cores suddenly give better battery life?

Well, you may have it soon. There's an Acer TM8200 out now with video performance around the level of a Go 6800 (non ultra)

And I'm sure you'll see plenty of 15.4" with Go 7600/X1600s.

Take a look here:

Specs say 6 hours of battery life, but manufacturers all like to exaggerate a bit, but I wouldn't doubt at least 4 hours.

Because it's not 'sudden' - Intel have been working on Yonah for a while now, with the primary focus still being power consumption.

kpxgq, there's a review over at PC Magazine showing battery life measured by MobileMark as 3:47. Pretty close to 4 hours and I'm not sure under what sort of stress that is (don't know how MobileMark measures battery life).

Once the new Sony S-series comes out, I'll be on it like white on rice.

I believe it's 65 fab vs 90 fab...hence less power consumption.
