Battery problem Compaq presario 3000 laptop

From my nephew comes the following plea for help
"My compaq presario 3000 laptop @ 1 yr old has problems when I unplug it. The battery lasts only about 10 minutes then it dies."

Any ideas? He says he keeps it plugged in almost all the time and hardly ever uses it on battery power.

probabaly dead battery


if you use A/C power all the time, then you should remove the battery cuz the heat from the laptop slowly kills the battery as well
