I've been recovering from ankle surgery for the past few weeks. Well, I got into a hard cast a week ago.

Here are the stage pics:

Right after surgery (for 2 weeks) I had to wear this soft splint:

Then they cut it off, and I got to see a bit of their work. No bruising, and the incisions look great!

Then, they planned on a new cast... and I wanted to have a good, easy pallet to work from! ;) So I chose black:

Well, tonight, while I was out getting used to my airbrush equipment, and getting mixtures down, I went to town on my cast! I still have several more effects to add in, but... you see where I am going... ;)

I have some green accents to add in, and then I have to get the Dallas Stars logo on the top of the shin, but I believe I have an easy way to do that... maybe... ;)

Just thought I'd share this with my fellow nutcases!
;)

Laters!

What'd you do to it?

That paint job looks good though, must be kind of awkward trying to airbrush it though. Definitely post pictures when it's done.

Hope you recover quick

lol - that's AWESOME! You got some skills with the airbrush. :)

Can't wait to see your next case!

And a speedy recovery from the surgery!

My ankle was weakened by 8 major sprains that I suffered. Time span from Jr. high to just this last Fathers Day. After this last one, I just gave up, went to the orthepedic and told them to fix it..

Removed the bone spurs and scar tissue from within my ankle, found a busted piece of cartildge that was trying to attach to my tendon (and removed the cart), then repaired my ligaments on the outside of my ankle, pulled them up tight to the side of my shin, and double attached them.

Definately awkward painting the outside of the cast. Inside was easy, outside was very difficult! I think I will enlist my wife's help when I complete this thing...
;)

Thanks guys! Was a bit of fun out in the garage... my wife came out to check on me and when she saw my cast, her eyes just lit up! ;)

I think she thought i was kidding... *tsk* *tsk*... never doubt a modder! :D

All you need now are a few lights...

Further proof that you can't keep a true modder down.
Get well soon :D .

Couldn't wait to get back in action.. Now if you can only market the Cast Painting Skills, bet you could make some money on the side.. Custom Cast by TD.... Just wait outside hospitals and hand out fliers.. LOL

Glad your back home and somewhat back on your feet.

It's crazy how stupid crap like this just makes me want to mod more. You really are an inspiration to everybody else here...well, at least to me.

Get well soon! (Or "Heal up soon!)

That is a hella good idea!!!
;)

And I am flattered that my work inspires schultz... thank you!
It was just a stoopid lil impulse I had in the garage. I mean... I'd been thinking about it, but just pulled the trigger and did it! No realy plan, and a slight vision of how I wanted it to look... so I honestly got lucky!
