I have had some problems with my laptop as in this thread

and also this one

By setting the Power Management to High performance , there appears to be a big improvement with all these problems ( though still not perfect ) . I take it from this that the Power Management actually affects the constant operation , and not only hibernate , sleep and the like . Something like a desktop with a too small power supply ? Is this in fact , the case ? If so , has the extra 1GB memory (over the initial 1GB ) required more power ? Does this mean that the sticks are faulty in demanding too much power , or possibly , this is not normal for a laptop , and it itself has some inherent problem .

I would be interested in what you laptop experts think of all this .

The power supply/converter that comes with your laptop is sufficient to run every option that you can get from the manufacturer.

The only case I've seen that is different is Dell who has both a 60w and a 90w supply depending on the options you choose.
