I posted at notebookreview to get some help as well but not as large of a response as I'd like. Anyway my latitude is dead and I need a new notebook. I was looking at a macbook but decided against it. I talked with a few dell ppl and found I could get a really good deal on a m1210 or a m1330 but still unsure. Was also looking at the thinkpad back to school special or maybe an hp. Can someone help me make up my mind. The computer will be customized pretty much the same all across the board accept for the difference of graphics processors. Specs are as:
Cpus 7200/7300
ram 2g
100g 7200 rpm drive
dvdrw
wireless n and bluetooth
I was leaning towards the m1210 because I like the look and its super cheap right now but that 1330 is so darn sexy. Someone help me.

Ughhhhh hp's are truly awful! Dells are nice and i havnt had too much trouble in the past but id recommend a thinkpad, lovely laptops that are rock solid

The m1330 looks really nice and I wouldn't mind owning one. Since you're leaning towards it anyways, go for it.
How is the ibm/lenvo t61 with their current discount and an additional coupon I can get over 600dollars off on a pretty beefy system any thoughts on that?

I would be all over the lenovo. They are just about the best laptop you can get, except Asus makes some extremely high end laptops now. Lenovo is quite a few steps above a Dell.

Lenovo T-series, HP business class (you've got to purchase from the SMALL BUSINESS section), or the Dell Latitudes (not Inspirons!) are your best bet if you're looking for a laptop that will have a high chance of lasting you a long while and working well. The tendency for many models of all three of these to have 3 year warranties does add a lot to that possibility.
I'd recommend any of the three over most of the other stuff on the market. Business-class are designed a step above the rest, because businesses aren't going to be happy if their large-scale purchases all stop working before the next upgrade.

I'd be a bit wary of the Dell M1330, I bet they pull another XPS and can't deliver them. You might be waiting awhile. They do look sweet, however.

Actually there was a post over at Engadget (I think) that said the M1330 had finally started getting out in a timely fashion - they had been having problems but the supply seems to be catching up.
