Anyway to get Microsoft Updates, but not from MS?

I need to copy fiesl to CD so I can take them out to my dads house and put them on his computer, but MS doesnt give me teh option to save teh files, so my question is how/where can I DL fiels so I can burn tehm to CD and install them on another computer?

What kind of files does you dad need? What files are you trying to save? What OS? details...

Win2k Pro mainly, and the latest WinXP Pro files. I dont need WMP files or any of that, amybe IE6, and of course teh SP's

You can download some stuff off the download section of microsofts site that have the option to download the "network installation". Which will give you the full update saved to your drive.

If you are using XP and so is your dad, you could try this...

Go to the Windows Update site and click the "Personalize Windows Update" link. Then check the box "Display the Link....".
Then Save Settings.

Now you should have a Windows Update Catalog link on the left menu. Click that link and download any update you want. The update is in the folder that you designate. If you can't find it just do a search for the "Q" number (ie. q312369) of the downloaded updates.
