Eeek the servers may not be able to handle images I'm afraid. Not once the board gets to a decent size. Maybe we can set aside one of a special board for that sorta thing. Sorry folks. We'll look into spicing up the hardware soon. I don't want to make the overall performance of the board too slow for everyone. I'd like to make it load as fast as poss. OK with you guys? And keep them funny images coming.. we can use them as Avatars or something?

I don't think images would slow it down because they are not actually on your server. It would only slow down your server if the images where actualy uploaded onto your server, right? Anyway I think it's a bummer thay we can't post anymore images. Also how come you have two different user names(alexross and Sharky)?

Hmmm.. I do not think it would be a bad thing if there was a size limit... Like nothing over 100k? But thats hard to do unless the images get stored on your servers. And thats no good to you or us...
I know that not everyone can get a T1 and have 20g tiff files for a [img] pic..But there has just got to be a way to limit large pic's though...
It's just so much fun to share pictures and it's a great help to move us into the digital age.
That artical about under 200$ cams is going to make lots of readers mad that they can not take good use of these tools.
So be like the other boards, or be a shark..

I'm still keen on having a "registration only" folder where it's off topic but that only registered members could post 'em. That way it's known and thus people on slower connections don't get affected. Just a thought...

Ah..I just came up with the best idea yet...
Why not just make an option for each user to disable the [img] from there profiles. This way if I'm on a slow ppp I can choose not to see large pics. But this would still allow others to post them.
What do you think about that idea?
