What advice do you have for a young web designer who's getting into the computer hardware/game review business in the UK?

I know it sucks being in the UK, as everything is happening in California, but i'm still getting sent hardware from the European offices of the companies, so it's not too bad. Hopefully i'll be able to move onto games soon.

FYI: *You don't need to read this*

I'm 18 and i've had my digital artwork feature in magazines in the UK, Japan, Germany and America. I'm currently working on a website for the guys who invented the Go-Ped, (You know, the motorised scooters) Patmont Motor Werks in California.

Source VIP,
I'm probably not the best person to ask. I got my start in the UK but very quickly moved across to the States. What experience I had in the UK probably isn't that useful. I remember writing for a few of the mags (doing game reviews/previews) and them being stagnent to change and to include things like 3D card reviews etc... I suspect that has all changed now, right? If you're going to do your own web site, the main thing is to be prepaired to lay out your own funds until you get going for real. Being consistent, honest, fair and that sort of stuff. Sorry if that isn't too specific but as I said, it's been a long time...

Good luck in any case

Glad I could chip in then. The main thing that has also changed is the way companies view the web these days. They didn't used to take it seriously back then, especially in the UK. But now, it's a different ball game thankfully.
