IS ANYBODY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH REBOOTING MOTHERBOARDS AT THE MOMENT? I HAVE 3 DIFFERENT BRANDS OF BOARDS ALL DOING THE SAME THING - THEY RUN OK UNTIL ASKED TO RESTART FROM WINDOWS AND THEN THE VGA REFUSES TO INITIALIZE. WHEN THE RESET OR START BUTTON IS PRESSED EVERYTHING REBOOTS AS NORMAL. THE BOARDS ARE FIC SD11'S, JETWAY 531'S AND THE BIGGEST CULPRIT - POWERCOLOR 561A'S. POINTERS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WOULD BE APPRECIATED AS I'VE HAD APPROX 15 BOARDS IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS DOING THIS.
Thanks In Advance

Well, it sounds like it could be something other than the motherboards. Have you tried different power supplies?

Yes I've changed power supplies to 300 watts, changed processors, ram brand and speed, hdd brand and size, cd roms, graphics cards where needed, even the power cords and cases. The interesting thing with the powercolor boards is that they don't seem to like 128 mb dimms. Two 64 dimms have a better success rate than a single 128 dimm !!
I'm beginning to think the other boards were just unfortunate coincidences, as it's only the powercolor board that's given me any grief this week. They tell me they're forwarding a new bios, so i'll wait for that.
Interesting though, that FIC have an FAQ on their site describing a similar problem, and give a phone no. rather than an answer !!
Reply's Appreciated in Advance.

Well, it's a pretty well known fact that VIA has had problems with memory compatibility. Those manufacturers may not have put in much effort to working around the chipset problems. Maybe you should splurge and go for a little better-engineered product and see if you get the same problem. Good luck!

Ciao!
