I have a 800 T-Bird.
My board is a Asus A7V. Paid 235$ can. and it's great!
For what i've seen, it's a very stable board that have great performance and features.
You just can't be wrong with this board.

Overclocking?
Get the Asus or Abit
No OC?
Go for the K7TPro from MSI. It is -rock- solid, available, and inexpensive. It just doesnt do much in the overclocking department.
I dont OC, and so I went with this board...
And it's got that funky 45 degree angled Northbridge chip! Wooo http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/wink.gif

Hi Tupac,
The Gigabyte is a solid choice and it's a good bit cheaper than the ASUS. It's not as fun in terms of options... but it does the job. For our budget AMD system we recommend the Gigabyte and for the high-end we use the A7V. Both are very good boards.

Thanks for flying with us, we know you have a choice...
alex, which Gigabyte board would you suggest?
I have about 1 month until I will finalize my computer specs, and then buy the parts.

i've built a few tbird systems and almost all of them have used the a7v. it's a higher end board but i don't like to go skimpy on the mobo when i've already got a tbird on the desk, in the long run it just saves some pains and well worth the extra money.

Hey,
I put together a Classic Athlon w/ Geforce 256DDR and have been kicking my self in the head since.(Constant Lockups, restarts, and acts of aggression killed the proccessor)
If I buy a T-Bird and one of the above mobo's, what's the word on compatibilty w/ my current geforce?

I run a T-bird 800@1000 and use the A7V.
Very good motherboard and very stable. Never had a problem at all. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif
My friend has Gigabyte MicroATX (7zm I think) and it works well. And the damn thing is bloody cheap. Like US $110 or less.
